What we love about Hornsby
Welcome to Hornsby
Hornsby is a family-friendly suburb that offers a large selection of playgrounds, parks, recreational facilities and quality schools. Hornsby is only a short 40-minute train ride to Sydney's CBD. There are two distinct sides to Hornsby's shopping precinct. The Eastside, with Westfield, restaurants, and specialty shops, and the West Side which preserves much of Hornsby's heritage buildings, Hornsby RSL and Odeon Theatre. A popular pocket of Hornsby is the Mount Errington Precinct on Hornsby's West Side which comprises a selection of heritage homes. Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital has also undergone major upgrades recently. It is reassuring for many residents that a facility of this caliber is within easy access.

The Market
Hornsby has undergone a variety of development. This is evident, particularly in the unit market. The 1970's saw the initial development of the three-storey walk-up. This is traditionally a double brick building comprising three storey's without a lift. They are predominately two bedrooms, one bathroom and a single lock up garage. In the 1990's the three-storey walk up evolved and the developers included an ensuite and gas cooking. 2000 onwards has seen the rise in apartments with lifts, gyms, and other facilities. Hornsby still retains many federation homes and bungalows, predominately on the Westside.
